Xbee is one implementation of Zigbee, a direct-sequence spread spectrum communication protocol. The open-hardware PingPong-CDC project uses frequency-hopping spread spectrum coding.

Do we need a page comparing DSSS, FHSS, and other modulation techniques/protocols, and making recommendations and suggestions for low-cost open hardware? FHSS ? spread spectrum ? modulation ? --DavidCary 18:17, 2 January 2008 (PST)
