This device simply passes the Li-ion battery, as an input, through to the output terminals. If the Li-ion battery voltage drops too low then the output is blocked so as to prevent discharge. The switch offers 100% discharge or 50% discharge or 25% discharge as the level at which to block. I read many more charge/discharge cycles from a rechargeable Li-ion are possible if you only use the top 25% of its capacity. Discharge below 9v for a nominal 11.1v Li-ion destroys the battery.
