|Not quite sure wht this is, says:  These are the schematics that show you how to wire an adapter board for connection of up to three HD44780 (or compatible) displays to the parallel port of your Linux box. LED backlight and contrast adjustment are supported by these wirings. The schematics describe the 8bit "winamp" wiring, as supported by LCDproc 0.4.1 and up.  More investigation might help.

Revision as of 19:05, 22 January 2008

Lots of external Eagle Links

Magic key words for searching the links, in the Topic column.

  • Projects: project descriptions, enough to reproduce the project, not just nice pictures
  • EFiles: File(s) in eagle format for the board, schematic, or both.
  • Tutorial: a tutorial or how to
  • Link: a link to more links
  • Parts: Part libarie(s)
  • Info: Useful information that does not rise to a tutorial, misc. tips.

So for example if you are looking for sample Eagle files search on EFiles.

There were several sites where there is quite a bit of information. These include cadsoft.com sparkfun.com. instructables.org

One of the biggest omissions is the cadsoft site itself. Poke around a bit, we will fix this problem with the list sometime in the future.

Eagle to G-Code

The main application I use for PCB design is Eagle and the rest of this thread will concentrate on producing PCB's with this software. However I will describe dealing with other formats.

LCDproc support Not quite sure wht this is, says: These are the schematics that show you how to wire an adapter board for connection of up to three HD44780 (or compatible) displays to the parallel port of your Linux box. LED backlight and contrast adjustment are supported by these wirings. The schematics describe the 8bit "winamp" wiring, as supported by LCDproc 0.4.1 and up. More investigation might help.
